Abimbola Writes

Eyimofe couldn't seem to wait for the first week in April to end, he sat down with his laptop in front of him while trying to conclude the proposal he was trying to send to a pharmaceutical company. He knew there was so much cool money in the pharmaceuticals, and after he has prayed over the offer, he felt released to invest in it.

The money he was trying to invest into Tabade Drugs was not more than ten million, but he still considered it a huge sum of money that shouldn't be tossed into the sea. His ringing phone on the other side of his bed brought him out of his thoughts.

'Hiya Mofe' The caller said

'Sem Sem, how you dey? Mofe said smiling, all the thoughts of figures pausing for a while.

'I have told you countless times not to call me that name, I am not that sixteen-year old girl you used to know, I am a manager now and my name is Semilore' She said with all manner of seriosness.

Mofe wouldn't budge.

'My one and only Sem Sem' Mofe said smiling as he imagined how his friend must be shaking her head now.

'Anyways, it is not your fault. Do you want the feedback of the assignment you gave me now?

More switched from his playful mood at once. Since Ara had told him about her birthday only few days ago, Semilore has been the person he had called to help him out with getting her a gift. While they were friends in school, he had always admired her appearance and that admiration made her his best option for getting something lovely for Ara's birthday. He had sent her a reasonable amount of money to purchase all she knew Ara would like.

'Of course, have you bought it? Mofe asked

'Yes, I bought her a three-quarter blue gown, a long peach gown, a white top, two lovely camisole and a wedge. I remember you said she likes reading too, I bought her a book by Kim Vogel Sawyer titled 'Courting Miss Amsel. I have it in my library too and I'm confident she will love it'.

'Thank you so much for taking out time to do this for me considering how busy you are'. Mofe said with a sense of deep gratitude.

'Nothing is too much for you Mofe'.

'How much will I have to add to the bill?
Mofe asked although knowing that she wouldn't accept anything else from him, what a sweet heart she's got, her fiance Tobi was such a blessed man.

'You want to give me money abi? Biko write check of ten million naira when my brother brings the gift to your office' Mofe laughed at her response although it didn't come as a surprise.

She continued

'He should be in your office by 2pm tommorow, because that is around the time he will be throgh with his lecture for the day'. Semilore said as a yawn escaped from her mouth.

'Lazy child, I can see you're tired. Let me release you to go and sleep. Thank you so much Sem Sem' Mofe said smiling

'I don't have strength to argue about that name again tonight. You're welcome and say Hi to the  lady that is making you shake o. Goodnight' Semilore said and ended the call before Mofe could give a response.

He stared at the phone in his hand thinking. So, if all went well, by this weekend he would be engaged while that innocent lady will remain where she is because of his self-centredness. He shut down his laptop for the night knowing  he would have a hard concentrating again.

**********

On Sunday morning, Ara woke up to the voice of her parents singing the happy birthday song to her. They had showered prayers on her and she had smiled when her mother had prayed that the next birthday will meet her in her husband's house, funny how someone who isn't engaged will be her husband's house in the next twelve months, and although her engagement status is about to change in a few hours, she didn't think that prayer would receive answer before her next birthday.

In church, the few people who knew about her birthday came over to her seat to wish her a Happy Birthday, Nelson had also come to greet her briefly because he had to quickly meet the members of the choir, if only the circumstances were different he would have been the first to call her.

Immediately the bell rang for the commencement of the service, there was a great silence in the auditorium.

During the worship session, Ara had went flat on her face to thank the one who had given her life, she knew it was possible for her to stand up and still deeply appreciate God, but she enjoyed casting everything down even her birthday dress.

The lady leading the church started singing Onise Iyanu by Nathaniel Bassey, by the time she got to the 'you have shown me so much mercy, much more than I deserve', she had tears in her eyes. After the worship, when it was time to give testimony, Ara was called out with others who had previously registered their name. She gave thanks to God, and afterwards dropped an envelope in the box.

The service ended too soon for Ara as she was always blessed whenever Pastor Oluyomi was the one preaching. After the bendiction, the members of the media team which she belonged to in church came to wish her well as she was not among those scheduled in the media room for that day.
By the time Ara got to the car, her parents were already on their seat.

'One of these days, you will still have to trek home' Ara's mother threatened.

'I'm sorry, I didn't know when you left the auditorium' Ara said tickling her mother from where she sat at the back.

When they got home, Ara cooked some delicacies for her parent while her father kept her company. He left at some point to prepare for where he and his wife were scheduled to go to.

'I remember you said you will be going out. Shut the door well and remember to go along with your key' Mr Adepoju said as they left the house.

A knock on the door startled Ara as she  was not expecting any guest. She dropped the knife in her hand and went to the door.

A peep through the hole in the door revealed a man who looked like someone who worked for a  delivery company.

'Good Afternoon Sir. Happy Sunday' Ara said as she came out  while closing the door behind her.

'Good Afternoon ma'am. Happy Sunday to you too. I have a package for you' He said as he dipped his hand into the big sized bag he was holding and rummaged it for some seconds before coming out with Ara's package.

He bought out a small book and told her to sign that she had received the package which she did after which he said his goodbye.

Ara dropped the parcel, went back to the kitchen to finish up what she was doing and went back to her room to check what was in the package.

As she was checking through the parcel, her phone vibrated on the bed. Seeing the name on the caller ID made her smile.

'Hello Mofe'.

'Oluwashindara' Mofe said

'Hope you like your gift? Mofe asked

'I knew it was you. They are all lovely.
Thank you so much' She said full of smiles.

'I need a favor'. Mofe said

'And what is that?

'I need you to wear one of those dress for our date this evening' Mofe said and held his breath while waiting for her answer.

Ara contemplated it for some seconds and gave a positive answer.

'Thank you so much. See you by 4pm'

'Alright. Take care of yourself'. Ara said and cut the call. She placed her hand on her chest as she tried stilling the fast rate at which her heart was beating. Opening one's heart to another person was indeed a delegate thing, she couldn't blame people who had sworn off romantic ties, it was both a beautiful and scary thing depending on who is involved.

Bimpe's call came in few seconds later.

'Hello to the birthday girl' Bimpe said excitedly over the phone

'Yes o' Ara replied.

Bimpe entered into the prophetic realm and started praying for Ara, she went from praying with understanding to praying in the Spirit and back to praying with understanding. By the time Bimpe rounded off the prayers, Ara felt immersed.

'Wow. That was a long one' Bimpe said laughing at her self.

'I appreciate it. Thank you' Ara said joining in the laughter.

'Still giving him a response today?

'Yes. We will be meeting in a couple of hours'.

'I'm sincerely happy. Trust that God's will be established' Bimpe prayed.

'Amen' Ara said and gave a deep breath.

'Remember I'll be waiting for the gist o'.

'I know, I know you na. We will see during the week'.

They talked some more before Bimpe ended the call.

Mofe was busy at work the next morning, he didn't know why he didn't felt like eating anything that morning. He was so lost in perusing the paper his secretary had brought that he his ringing phone jolted him so badly.

It was high time he changed his ring tone as he wouldn't want to get scared anytime his phone rang' Mofe thought to himself as he took his phone from the phone holder on his table and picked it without checking the name of the person calling him.

'Hello, Mofe on the line, who's this please? Mofe asked the person on the other end.

'Good afternoon Sir. This is Oluwashindara.'

He checked his caller ID to confirm.

'Wow. I'm so sorry, I didn't check who was calling before I picked the call. How are you?  Mofe asked

'I am doing great. Just wanted to check on you.'

'Hmmmmmm. Today must indeed be a good day then'

Ara laughed under her breath.

There was silence on both end.

'Can I take you out this weekend? Mofe asked, it's feels like years since he saw her face.

'I have a lot to do this weekend, I have my worst house chore to do and I also need to make my hair' Ara replied.

'You are calling washing of clothes your worst house chore even when you won't be washing them with your hands, you really need to improve on your washing of clothes o' Mofe said and laughed.

'I know I won't wash them with my hands, but I will need to bring them out of the machine with my hands and also dry them on the line with my hands.'

'I know you will always have a response. Anyways, we can still go out after you are through with all you want to do or what do you think?

He heard Ara making some sounds over the phone before finally speaking out.

'Okay then. Where will it be and by what time?

Mofe told her.

They spoke some more before Ara ended the call.

The rest of the week went fast as though it was borne on eagles wing.

On Saturday, Ara sat on the chair before the mirror and did some finishing touches to the light makeup on her face. Funny how she wasn't very tired even with all the things she had done between the hours she had woken up and now. She looked at the mirror and smiled at the reflection she saw smilling back at her. A look at the wall clock told her she had to start going otherwise Mofe would have been waiting for too long by the time she got there.

As she entered the resturant, she briefly searched for Mofe's seat among the several other people who were also having a time out.

She soon saw him although his head was bent over his phone, she was sure he must have his head buried in a book.

She walked towards his table with so much caution so that he wouldn't see her coming, when she got to hospital table, she tapped the table gently and a startled Mofe looked up to see who it was.

On seeing Ara, he rose up from his chair and they both shared a brief hug before getting Ara into her seat before sitting down himself.

'Welcome, Welcome, Welcome, and thanks for keeping to time' Mofe said smiling.

'You mean thanks for coming late right? She continued before he could talk 'I'm very sorry for keeping you waiting, E ma binu' Ara said and gave a mock bow.

'No problem, what will you like to eat?

'It's funny but I am not hungry at all.'

'You know we have to order something.'

'No problem, anything you order is okay with me' Ara replied.

Mofe walked to the counter and order two big cups of ice cream and a large piece of cake.

He paid the woman who attended to him and soon returned to their table with his order in a tray.

'It feels so good seeing your face again' Mofe said after his second bite of the cake.

'Same here. After the amala and gbegiri I ate in the salon this afternoon, I can't believe I am the one eating here again' Ara said as she put another spoon filled with ice cream into her mouth.

'Speaking of salon, I love your hair, its really nice.'

'Thank you, but this is not the real deal yet. This weekend is when the real deal will arrive' Ara said excitedly.

Mofe looked at Ara, this is the lady he knows, the one who doesn't hide her excitement.

'Hmmmmmmm. So what is happening this weekend? Mofe asked.

'I'll be a year older thiis weekend' Ara replied.

Mofe dropped the cake in his hand and studied Ara, he didn't know what to say to her obvious ommision.

'So you weren't going to tell me about your birthday right?

'I was going to tell you, we just never talked about it before now. And it is  not going to be a big thing, thank God it's Sunday this year. My plan is to pray and praise God into the new year, sleep, wake up, have my devotion, join my parents for general devotion, have them sing for me, go to church, give testimony and praise God some more, come back home, eat fried rice and chicken and sleep. Are said

'Sorry, but that plan won't work this year. After eating at home, the next thing won't be going to bed.' Mofe said with all confidence.
'So, what will it be?

'You will be going out with me of course.'

Ara laughed

'Then it will be a double celebration then.' Ara said while looking into her almost finished cup of ice cream.

'Okay, so what's else are we celebrating on your birthday? Mofe asked

'Eyimofe Oluwole, time will tell and moreover next week is almost here' Ara said as she looked at Mofe with love in her eyes.

'Next week had better come fast then' Mofe said staring at her. He was sure she would be giving her response next week. Lord, let it be a positive one, he prayed under his breath.

From the day Mofe proposed to Ara, they had both maintained a distance. Ara demanded for this because she didn't want him all over her while she claims she is praying about it. They had only spoken with each other over the phone three times in the past one month.

She wondered how some ladies claim they are praying concerning a brother and still go ahead calling him and having him all around her, well people are different and we all different area of strength, she wouldn't claim to be a strong lady, she knew she was anything but a strong woman' Ara was lost in thought while lying on her bed after dinner.

She heard a knock on her door, she knew it was her dad because her mom never knocks on her door, she adjusted her night wear while telling the person to come in.

'Oluwashindara' her father called her name in full while sitting down on the chair in her room.

'Daddy Daddy mi' She answered back as was her custom whenever her father calls her name in full.

Ara's father smiled.

'Should I get you water or cake for this August visit in March' Ara asked her dad mentioning his favourite snack.
'You can not afford what I want to eat. How much do you even have in your account that you want to entertain me? Her father asked.

'I don't have up to a million yet, but you thought me it's not how expensive the gift is but the heart with which I am giving.'

Her father nodded his head 'You are my true daughter, you have learnt well. '

'How are you?

Are rolled her eyes, she knew her dad's coming to her room was not just to ask how she was doing, there is definitely more to come.

'I am fine Dad, I am getting fatter all thanks to your wife's food' Ara answered.

'How is work?

'Stressful but fine' Ara couldn't wait for her father to get down to the main discussion, she knew it must be funny because her father who rarely smiles is looking at her all smiles.

'What has been happening with you of late?

Now to the main discussion.

'Everything is fine. A man I have known for some time proposed to me' Ara knew it was better she starts alking if she wants her to sleep on time that night.

'The one who took you out the other night? Her father asked.

'Yes Sir.'

'When did he propose?

'Close to two months now.'

'Okay. So you're engaged now' Her father said as a matter of fact.

'Of course not. I wouldn't get engaged without telling you and mom about it' Ara replied

'And what is stopping you, or are you among the ladies who take eternity to pray about a proposal?

'No dad, I only want to be very sure.'

'Giving a yes or no to a proposal is actually not something to rush into so that you don't end up wasting your time and emotions. But once you're sure you have God's consent, you can go into it. Being engaged is not the end in itself, it is only a means to the end' Her father said while getting up from the chair and coming to join her on the bed.

Her father continued.

'Most of you ladies, you don't give your consent on time because you want to see all there is to see about the man before giving your consent. Most of you do not have what we call faith anymore in your dictionary at all.'

'In our days, we had ladies who were working and had earned their own money marrying men with no jobs or certificates and no house to call his, but mainly because it was God who led them, and over ninety-five percent of them have no regrets, but the story is different now, we have unresponsible men looking for already made sisters who will be the breadwinner of the home, and this has caused most ladies to take more time than it's necessary praying as she wouldn't want to take up assignment that is bigger than her' Her father said smiling.

'Hmmmmmm... This is so true. Most of us are actually so scared of the unknown' Ara replied  looking at the wall clock in her room, she couldn't believe she and her father have been discussing for over one hour and she wasn't even tired yet.

'So, back to the case of your man'

Ara interrupted him

'Dad, he is not my man yet'

'Okay, back to the case of the  brother, I wouldn't presurize you, left to me alone, I wouldn't want you to leave my house, buy at some point you need to advance in life. Hear what God has to say about him, and give him a response as soon as possible or are you trying to play hard to get? Her father asked getting up from the bed

'Of course not' Ara replied smiling as she also stood up from the bed.

Her father opened his hands and Ara went to the outstretched arms voluntarily, this was one thing she loved about her dad's visit to her room, he never left without hugging and praying for her while she is in his embrace.

After the prayers, Ara quickly stood on her full height beside her dad to check If she had grown as tall as him.

Her father knew exactly what she was doing.

'It's impossible for you to grow as tall as me, you should know that by now' By now there were at the door of her room.

'Thanks for tonight dad. And greet your wife for me, I wonder why she hasn't been here to check you.'

'She was asleep when I left the room. Good night my princess.'

'Have a lovely night rest my precious precious  dad' Ara said and watched her dad walk to his room.

Much later after her father had left, she sat on the bed praying,  and there and then knew it was time to give Mofe his answer.

On the day of his appointment with pastor Obaleye, Mofe left his office around noon and enjoyed the traffic free ride to one of the offices on the island.

When he got to obaleye and co. chambers, he was ushered into the office of Mr Obaleye by the secretary.

'Good afternoon Bro Mofe' Pastor Obaleye said as he offered Mofe a seat in his office.

'Good afternoon Sir' Mofe said as he sat down. He further asked about the pastor's family, ministry and job to which the pastor responded that all was well.

'What will you love to take? Pastor Obaleye asked

'Nothing Sir, I am okay.'

'This is supposed to be lunch hour, are you sure you won't have anything? Pastor Obaleye asked again.

Mofe maintained his stand.

'Alright then.'

'So, to what do I owe this honourable visit? Pastor Obaleye asked.

Mofe smiled and sat more upright.

Mofe started his discussion by telling him about his feelings for a lady named Ara, he told his pastor all that he knew about her from his friendship with her. Mofe told him how confident he was that it was the Lord leading him to her.

'I believe you have prayed well about this? Pastor Obaleye asked Mofe after he had listened to all he said.

Mofe answered in the affirmative.

'I know you are a child of God, and with God's dealings in your life over time, to which I have been privileged to oversee, I commend you to the grace of God' Pastor Obaleye said.

Pastor Obaleye probed him Further and after about twenty-five minutes of discussion, they rounded up the meeting.

'Thank you very much Sir for creating out time to see me, I will be on my way now' Mofe said getting up.

Pastor Obaleye also rose up with him to pray for him, for him before he leaves.

'Thank you Lord for this son of yours, thank you for your dealings over his life over time, thank you for the wonderful things you are set  to do in his life.'

'I pray that your will for his life will be accomplished. I pray concerning his intentions towards the lady Ara, that your will prevails. I pray that your light continually shines on their path...  Thank you Jesus for all...  For in Jesus name we have prayed' Pastor Obaleye concluded his prayer.

And they both echoed Amen.

Before Mofe left the office, he dipped his hand  into his pocket and brought out a white envelope and slipped it under a book on the pastor's table.

Mofe left the pastor's office and started his journey back to his office.

******************************************

Two weeks after his meeting with his Pastor, Mofe called Ara to invite her out on a date on Sunday. He promised to take her back home after the date. He further  gave her the description Of the place.

When Ara got to the place Mofe had picked for their outing, she couldn't help smiling at the building that stood before her.

The place was really a sight to behold, Ara was sure she hadn't gone to a place that was that lovely before.

She called Mofe that she was around and he came out to take her to their table.

As they got sitted, a waiter came around to their table to take their order and in few minutes their order arrived and they got busy eating.

'How have you been? Mofe said initiating a conversation between them.

'I have been fine. I still find it difficult to believe that we have spent six weeks this year, it feels as though the year is on auto pilot.' Ara said and smiled.

Ara noticed that Mofe was barely picking his meal, which was not his usual habit the few times they had both gone out.

When she couldn't shake off the feeling, she decided to voice out her concern.

'Mofe, what is wrong?'

'Do you think something is wrong? Mofe asked back.

'I just have that feeling, and you are barely picking your food, I might be wrong anyways' Ara answered.

'I wouldn't say you are totally wrong though' Mofe said and took a gulp from his drink, while praying under his breath for the needed strength and words.

He pushed his food aside, and opened his mouth.

'Oluwashindara, I have been praying for some time now about the person whom God will have me settle down with, and I am convinced that you are the one.'

He paused and continued.

'I didn't see you in a dream or any revelation but I am sure it is God. I am not rushing you anything against your wish, and I am willing to give you time to pray about this and pray about me' Mofe ended his talk.

Ara was speechless. Although she couldn't say she was entirely surprised about this, because ever since her last discussion with Bimpe, she had spent some time searching out what it was about her and Mofe.

'Okay. I have heard you. I'll pray about it and give you a response soon' Ara said when she finally found her voice.

'Alright.'

With that done, Mofe was able to eat his food, and they finished their meal while discussing every other topic but the one Mofe just talked about.

Mofe kept to his word by taking her home when they were through.

When she got home, she met the sitting room empty indicating that her parents had retired for the night.

Ara went to her room, had her bath, said her prayers and soon slept off.

It was just like yesterday when the year started, but to Ara's amazement, a month had already passed by.

So many life changing events had happened in just that one month for Ara because in it, she had discovered her passion to help others as well as given a response to Nelson's proposal.

She remembered the scene as though it was happening again. She had called him to ask if he was ready for her answer to which he had answered in the positive, and they had both agreed on a venue, not a church this time.

She had come to the restaurant straight from her office that Wednesday evening, and saw Nelson getting sitted just as she was entering the place. They had exchanged pleasantries while she had left him with the task of ordering their meal. The waitress bought their meal and they both ate in a comfortable silence.

After the meal, as they were taking their drink, she had broke the news to him, she couldn't remember all she said on that day, but she remember thanking him for his interest in her and the fact that he was a very reasonable man.

She further had told him she wasn't convinced that God was permitting her to go into any relationship with him. She explained that she didn't have anything against him as a person and if God was permitting her she would have been delighted to spend the rest of her life with him.

Nelson had thanked her for her response, he said he appreciated her choice of words, he further went ahead to tell her of the response of a lady to his friend which had made the man afraid of proposing to any lady  again.

They had talked a bit more before departing on that day with no bitterness which was the best thing since getting into a relationship was not supposed to be a do or die affair.

**************************************

'Good afternoon pastor' Mofe said to the person on the other end of the phone

'Good afternoon Bro Mofe, and how are you doing? Pastor Obaleye asked.

'I'm doing great sir, trust you are also fine' Mofe responded

He continued 'I want to come and see you and I want to ask for the best time to come sir.'

Pastor Obaleye told him the time to come and further asked about his job before ending the call.

Bimpe and Ara went out on Saturday to have a time out and also catch up on what has been going on in each other's life.

After they had bought some things from the shopping complex, they entered into one of the African kitchen in the mall and got themselves a plate of amala each and drinks.

Ara had barely sat down before Bimpe popped the question that has been eating her up since the beginning of the year.

'So, how far with Nelson, have you told him yet? Bimpe asked.

'Aproko, I know you wouldn't let me rest unill you hear the full gist. Anyways, I have told him, and he accepted in good faith'

Ara couldn't help smiling as the incident came to her mind

'He was very mature about the whole issue, not that I was expecting him to cry or start rolling on the floor though.'

Ara asked her friend 'Should I tell you something?'

'Go ahead' Bimpe said and continued with her food.

'I was actually scared giving him a no. You know this is the Fifth man I am giving a No. Wale was the first, then Samuel, and then Mark, and Seyi, with Nelson being the fifth' Ara counted with her left hand.

'I know how scary it can be. It's okay to doubt yourself but this is where trusting in God comes in. I know all those men you mentioned except Wale who proposed to you before you gained admission'. Bimpe took a bite from her meat.

'I know they are all children of God too, but trust God when he says he has other plans.' Bimpe counselled.

'Hmmmmmm. Ose ore. I definitely will keep trusting' Ara said as she took another morsel of amala.

'With the way Nelson handled the whole matter and with our friendship of over two years, I am pretty sure he will make a good husband' Ara concluded

'He would definitely be a good husband, don't worry yours is on the way.'

'I pray o' Ara replied and laughed with Bimpe joining in

'What about your other friend, hmmmmm' Bimpe moved her head left and right in a bid to remember Mofe's name

'Eyimofe' Ara supplied

'Exactly' Bimpe said hitting her thigh

'How are things going on between the two of you? Bimpe asked

' He is fine, and there is nothing going on between us. We are just friends' Ara said looking into her friend's eyes

'Just friends!  Okay o' Bimpe said giving her friend a look that shows there is more.

Ara decided to switch the topic

'Enough about me, how is Kunle doing?  Ara asked giving her friend a wink.

'He is doing great' Bimpe said simply

'Only doing great ke, after all the perusal I received from you, rara o, better start talking' Ara said in a joking manner.

'Okay, asides that he is doing fine, I told you he got transferred from his work place, the new place is filled with ladies that are on his neck'

'You know how much I dislike going about with my phone, but since he resumed this branch, I have to be with my phone always ni o'

'And why is that? Ara asked trying to figure out the correlation between phone, ladies and a new place of work

'I need to go everywhere with it, so that whenever any of those 'ladies' are around he can easily call me while they listen to his conversation. Only God knows how many 'I love you' I have heard since he resumed this branch' Bimpe said looking at her wristwatch

'As if you don't enjoy the show affection' Ara said and smiled

'Of course I am enjoying it' Bimpe said and laughed.

Soon they were out of the African kitchen. Bimpe volunteered to drop Ara home before heading to her house.

Next Episode comes up on Thursday...

It was the last day of the year and Ara was excited about it,  not only because it signalled the end of the year but also because it her friend Bimpe was due to arrive that day.

They had both agreed that Ara would come to her house from work due to the fact that Bimpe's parents would be responsible for picking her up from the airport.

Ara closed rather early that day and it was really a battle getting a bus from her bus stop to her friend's neighborhood.

The sight of Bimpe opening the door for her was enough to make her forget the stress that she had encountered on the road.

'Oh my God,  see how big you have become' Ara said with her eyes going all over her friend's body.

Bimpe would not agree with Ara's statement 'Don't give me that, you have also added weight jo.'

'I'm not disputing that,  only that you are indeed bigger' Ara said not willing to give up.

'Okay ladies,  both of are looking good' Kunle, Bimpe's fiancé said from the chair he was sitting knowing full well that the two friends could keep arguing about that for hours.

'Oh! I am so sorry, I didn't even greet you when I came in. I guess I was excited seeing her face after a long time' Ara apologized

'No offense taken,  I also forgot to greet her parents when I came in myself' Kunle replied laughing

'And where are they?.

It was Bimpe's turn to talk

'They both went out to visit the orphanage close to dad's former office, they only waited to pick me up and also wait for Kunle before leaving the house.

Ara sat down in the chair  opposite Kunle with Bimpe sitting next to her.

After they had talked for some minutes, Bimpe went to the kitchen to serve her a glass of youghurt and a piece of cake and they continued gisting.

Ara stayed for about forty-five minutes before getting ready to leave.

'I sincerely don't feel like leaving but I have to be on my way if I don't want to be in the bus by midnight' Are said as she stood up from the sofa she was sitting on.

Bimpe quickly rushed to her room and brought out a bag filled with things she got for her friend.

After receiving the gifts with thanks, Ara led the way out of the house.

'Welcome back girlfriend, it feels so good to know you are back' Ara said as they got to the gate of the house.

'Awwwww. It's really nice to be back. I didn't know how much I missed these faces until I saw it again' Bimpe said looking at Ara and Kunle.

'Biko, be specific o,  which of the faces are you referring to, mine or his?. Ara said

Bimpe started laughing at her question , soon Ara and Kunle joined.

After making sure she got to the car park safe, they hugged each other while promising to see each soon.

Ara journey back home was more stressful due to the fact that most people were trying to beat the Lagos traffic to be able to attend the crossover service.

She got home to discover that her parents were dressed up and  she knew she had to be fast with her dressing if she didn't want her mom shouting at her.

Ara quickly changed her ash suit and black skirt for  a pink t-shirt on a blue jean with a black  mofler and black slippers and quickly joined her parents in the sitting room for the last service of the year.

She couldn't explain why she was looking forward to the new year with so much enthusiasm but she was sure the new year held fufilments to some of the promises the Lord has made to her.

Next Episode comes up on Saturday....

P. S I apologize for the LONG break from here without notice, it was due to some circumstances...
