This life is a place where we will always find different categories of people.

There will always be people who are seemingly ahead in life, and then people who can be categorized as contemporaries, and people who you appear to have gone ahead in life.

If there is any battle most of us face is the concern deep down if we will ever measure up to the life of others.

Your best friend is married, you are still single.

Your younger brother is already working with a great organization, while you are still stuck with getting a job with a reasonable pay.

The lady next door has a great body structure while you consider yourself too fat.

... The list is endless...

How do you then deal with this?

                                        BE GRATEFUL

I know there are times in life when it seems that everything is not working out and it seems that everything have just chosen not to work out. There is one thing we can do that will make everything go right.

We can choose to be grateful; it is a choice we must always make irrespective of situations around.
If only we can learn to be grateful for any level we are in life while we still work towards all the lord will still have us do, a lot of things will go right. There are so many things we will keep complaining about and feel that so many things are not working until we decide to check things we can be grateful for

I felt like this sometime back, it was this felling as though everyone was moving ahead while I was still stuck in a place, that day I decided to write a list of the things I was grateful for. By the time I was through with writing them down, I realized that there are so many things I have taken for granted at some point in my life.

I know your best friend just landed a six figure salary while you are searching for a job, rather than complaining, while not chose to be grateful that you are alive, you have a degree and that everything (both the good and the bad) is working together for your good.

You can have a gratitude list where you journal all the things you are grateful for, if you can think deep, you’ll realize there are so many things working out well for you.

                           BE CONTENT

There is this thing about when we are content about things and situations; there is a certain peace that accompanies it. Most of those who have high blood pressure are those who have bite more than what they can chew only because they haven’t learnt about being content.

While this is not about being lazy about life and not working towards specific goals, it is enjoying life at the level where you are while still working towards having a better life.  It is a popular saying that life is a journey, and just like every other journey we embark on, there will be several stops on the way, and these stops are all part of what make the journey interesting.

It is not just about the destination but how we enjoy the journey.

Being content will help you go at a great pace in life because you wouldn’t be in for the rat chase, but you will be doing things out of a heart that is at rest, and things done from that stance of rest are done better.

              BELIEVE WHAT GOD HAS SAID

God is not a man that he should lie, and neither is he the son of man that should repent, as he said a thing and not made it come to pass?

There will certainly be times when we are at crossroads, when it seems that God is no longer keeping to his promises. There will time when like the disciples of old, we also cry out to the lord ‘Carest Thou Not That We Perish?’

I sometimes wonder how the disciples must have felt in the boat with Jesus that day, he had told them to accompany  him to the other side of the river and they have hearkened to his voice, they trusted him enough to be able to go into the sea with him, they must have felt very confident in Him to lead them safely to shore and hence their agreeing to follow him. And suddenly, there was a storm and by the time they were looking for the master who had initiated the journey, they met him sleeping.

I’m sure they would not have been able to believe the message their eyes was sending to their brain, and that action of his propelled them to think that he didn’t care if they perish, and out of the abundance of their thoughts, they spoke.

There will definitely be times like this when it looks like God no longer cares, or that he isn’t faithful, but regardless of the feelings, God cares and he is able to do ALL that he has said he would, only don’t stop believing.

Just like he came through for the disciples, he'll also come through for us.

Let your worth come from the fact that you belong to God and that he is your father.

He is able to fulfill all his promises, no matter how long, he’ll come through.

LYRICS FROM HE’S ABLE BY DARWIN HOBBS

God is able to do just what he said he would do
He’s gonna fulfill every promise to you
Don’t give up on God, cause he won’t give up on you
He’s able

Remember those times you were praying for the things you now have, there will be a time not to far from now when you will also start to enjoy the blessings you are praying for now.

Rest In That Assurance.

Let's talk about money.

This seemingly sacred commodity that people will do anything to have, whose presence connotes happiness and absence brings so much tension.

I don't like  the feeling when I want to buy something and I don't have sufficient funds for it, or other times when there is a great opportunity and the cash both home and in bank is not enough to take it up. It is times like this that some individuals after running from pillar to post come face to face with their spending choices which doesn't have to be so.

We should not always wait for times when our bills stares at us in the face that we begin to start doing something about it.

Let me share with you some things I have learnt in my journey in life on my way to living a financially stable life.

1.

TO THY SELF BE TRUE

One of the reasons why a lot of people run into debt majorly include but not restricted to the fact that they want to live life to impress the person next door, and this particular lifestyle will never allow anyone live in the abundance they should live. If you want to buy a product, let's say a bag for example, honestly ask yourself the main reason why you are buying and make sure it is something you can comfortably afford and not because you want to pepper your colleagues at work or your course mates.

I have seen people in lack who although were earning decent amount of money but were continually in need because they chose to always outdo themselves. While looking presentable is so required as you will be addressed the way you are dressed, but you don’t need to live a life that is not yours to prove a point to others that you have made it.

Stop buying the things you can’t afford to impress those who won’t remember what you are wearing today by tomorrow.

To Thy Own Self Be True!

2.

SAVE FIRST BEFORE SPENDING

One of the regrets most elderly people have is the fact that they didn't save early enough in their lives especially when there were still earning a lot or when things were still better.

I know saving first before spending looks good and easier in print than it actually is but if you can decide to start putting this into use then you will be on your way out of  brokeville.

While there is no standard percent to be saved, but I recommend a minimum of 35% for people who are not married and who still live with their parents, and at least 20% for those who are married.

As a rule, always save a fraction of your money before spending the rest.

It is not every month that the wardrobe has to be changed. You can choose to stab buying of clothes for some months so as to grow your account.

Although saving in itself will not necessary make you a millionaire, but it is a good way to gather enough money to put into more lucrative opportunities.

                                                                 3.

STAY ON A BUDGET

While some individuals knows how to pinch money, others still struggle with it, but to be able to save consistently; you must be able to make a budget and work with it. Your monthly budget should include your tithe, your savings, parent's support, transport to work, toiletries, gifts and other things your lifestyle accommodates.

Take a stock of all your expenses for the last month, check where all your money went to, and strike out those things that are not necessary for you, or those things you can stay without.

There will always be things calling for your attention day in day out, but the ability to be able to look away from them is the beginning of living in abundance. After your have been able to accomplish staying on a budget, then you can now compensate yourself by easily buying one of those things you have stayed away from buying.

Do you have other way to save money, please share!

Most ladies ideal woman is the proverbs 31 woman, and a whole day can be spent talking about her so many traits that makes so many ladies pale in comparison.

But, beyond the proverbs 31 woman,  there are so many women in the Bible who are worthy examples to be followed and so many lessons to learn from them. One of such women is Rebekah : the wife of Isaac, the daughter-in-law of Abraham.

Rebekah was a woman just like us, although she didn't live in the 21st century, she also lived on this earth with challenges and situations peculiar to that time too.

Although the bible was silent about the age of Rebekah when the servant of Abraham made that trip to get a wife for his Master's son, but one thing we are sure of is she was a young woman during that time and had desires and challenges that were peculiar to every woman of her time.

Some lessons from this daughter-in-law of Abraham

1. She was a woman of solid character

There is no time I read the account of how Rebekah met with Eliezer that I am not wowed, I mean how will a young lady decide to fetch water for a old man and also for his camels.

It is so out of the norm especially in this generation where young ladies can not do good to a man except if he looks like a prospective husband or if there are men watching by.

I wonder if I would have done same for Eliezer if I was the one he met at the well that day. Rebekah definitely wasn't on the lookout for a husband because if she had been, there was no way she could have given attention to a stricken elderly man who needed help.

Some ladies have also missed a good man only because he didn't come in a fine attire, or he wasn't looking like what they thought a husband should like.

2. She was a woman who was sensitive

Rebekah beyond just been a woman who was a goodly woman is a woman who had a sensitive to the move of God, or what other thing could have attributed to her willingness to go as fast as possible to meet a man she had never met before in her life, agree to be his bride, while also bearing in mind that she might never come back to her family again. And that was exactly what happened, there was not one record in the Bible where Rebekah went back to her own family.

Can you also do that?

While yours might not be Leaving your location to another location, but life brings several circumstances our way in which we have to be sensitive to the leading of God.

3. She was a comfort to her husband

After she finally became Mrs Abraham, she went ahead to be a comfort to her husband.
Rebekah arrived at the house of Isaac at a time when he was still mourning the death of his mother ; Sarah. The scriptures record that he brought her into his mother's tent and she comforted him.

This comfort must have been beyond the intimacy they shared. Rebekah must have been made in a manner that was enough to bring comfort to him.

In what manner also are you been made, are you been fashioned now in a way that will bring comfort to anyone whom you come across in life, or are you running out of process?

It is not enough to just be a woman, what virtues are we adding to our lives asides the obviously beautiful face we carry around and the great body structure we have?

I am felling so shy right now.

Putting myself out like this is something I would rather not do.

I have been having a stirring in my heart concerning this for some time now, and it's high time I started fully.

Seeing the way things has been going on in the society isn't really right, but then rather than passing the blame or doing the blame game, I would rather put on my voice out.

Our era is so filled with moral decadence, people not knowing the difference between what is right and wrong, the line is continually blurring and we have the mandate to make sure the line does not get totally erased.

On this blog, we'll be having various categories ranging from faith; which is the central theme of this blog, so from from the faith angle we will looking at finance, personal development, relationship tips, fashion, the modern day woman, career tips, stories, book reviews, movie reviews and song reviews...

It promises to be a great ride.

I'm so excited this afternoon.

So, today 5th of September, 2019, we launch this blog in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Can I hear an Amen?

There will always be a blog post on the blog every Thursday and on other specified days of the week, the only exception to this will be when i am going on a break and that will be announced here, no more going away without notice. I am looking forward to being a good steward.

So, here I am saying as God helps us, we will give value here.

Thanks for coming.

See you next Thursday!
